1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil if needed
1 small onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 small carrot diced
1 small head green cabbage chopped
1 cup diced tomatoes or 2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or oregano
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Optional splash Worcestershire sauce
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
Drain excess grease if needed.
Add onion and carrot and cook until softened.
Stir in garlic and cook briefly.
Add chopped cabbage and cook until wilted.
Stir in tomatoes and seasonings.
Cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes until cabbage is tender.
Adjust seasoning and serve warm.
Cook uncovered at the end if excess moisture remains. Add rice or potatoes for a heartier meal.
